About me

My name is Balnish Nguyen, and Bollywood dance has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. What began as a childhood passion at the age of 7 has grown into a lifelong journey of performance, creativity, and self-expression.

I first stepped onto a stage at just 7 years old, performing in front of an audience. From that moment, I fell in love with the feeling of performing—the music, the energy, the expressions, and most importantly, the connection between a dancer and the audience. I never stopped.

I am a self-trained Bollywood dancer, having developed my skills through years of dedication, practice, observation, and an endless desire to learn. Without following a traditional formal training path, I taught myself by studying Bollywood music and choreography, practicing for countless hours, and continuously pushing myself to grow as a dancer and performer.

Throughout my journey, I have performed for audiences in California and Kansas, gaining experience on different stages and in different environments. Every performance has taught me something new and helped shape me into the dancer I am today.

For me, Bollywood dance has never been simply a hobby or a career. It is my passion. It is how I express myself, tell stories, connect with people, and bring energy and joy into a room. The stage has always been a place where I feel completely myself.

That passion eventually inspired me to create Bollywood By Balnish; a space where I can share the art form that has meant so much to me with others. Through performances, workshops, private lessons, and group classes, my goal is to make Bollywood dance fun, welcoming, and accessible while encouraging others to find their own confidence and love for dance.

From that 7-year-old who simply loved performing to where I am today, the journey has been filled with growth, memories, challenges, and countless moments on stage. And after all these years, one thing has never changed:

I still love Bollywood dance just as much as I did when I was 7.
